What these tools can and cannot promise, stated plainly.

1. General information only

Everything published on imageconvertor.si (including guidance on formats, quality settings, dimensions and print sizes) is general information. It is not professional advice, and it may not fit your specific situation. Verify anything that matters before you rely on it.

2. Passport, visa and ID photos

We cannot guarantee acceptance of any photo by any authority. The Passport Photo Cropper produces images at the physical dimensions and print resolution you select. Whether a photo is accepted also depends on head size and position, expression, eyewear, headwear, lighting, shadows, background shade, print quality and paper, none of which this tool assesses. Requirements differ by country and change without notice. Always check the current official specification from the issuing authority.

3. Processing is irreversible

Lossy compression permanently discards image data. Cropping permanently removes pixels. Resizing down cannot be undone by resizing back up. We never receive a copy of your file, so nothing can be recovered from us. Keep your originals.

4. Technical claims

File size reductions, quality comparisons and format savings quoted on this site are typical figures from common cases, not guarantees. Actual results depend on your image's content, the encoders in your specific browser build, and the settings you choose. Your browser's WebP encoder is not identical to another browser's, and neither matches a native encoder such as cwebp or MozJPEG.

5. Known limitations

  • Animated GIF and WebP: only the first frame is processed. Animation is lost.
  • Background removal: colour-key based. It needs a flat, evenly lit background and is not AI subject segmentation.
  • PNG compression: palette reduction, which is lossy. Dedicated native tools such as pngquant or OptiPNG will usually do better.
  • Lossless WebP: not available through browser canvas encoders at any quality setting.
  • SVG input: rasterised at its intrinsic size; externally referenced fonts and images inside the SVG are not loaded, because browsers block them for security.
  • Colour management: embedded ICC profiles are not preserved. Output is effectively sRGB. This matters for professional print work.
  • Metadata: EXIF, IPTC and XMP data, including copyright fields, are removed during re-encoding.

6. Availability

The site is provided free of charge with no uptime guarantee. Tools depend on browser features that vary between versions and vendors; a tool that works in one browser may behave differently in another. Where a required encoder is missing, we disable the option rather than return a broken file.

7. External links and advertising

This site contains third-party advertising and may link to external websites. We do not control, endorse or take responsibility for their content, products, privacy practices or security. Visiting them is at your own risk.

8. Source code visibility

All tool logic runs in your browser and is therefore fully readable by anyone who views the page source. We do not claim, and cannot provide, protection against inspection or copying of client-side code. Any statement to the contrary from any website should be treated as false.

9. Contact
