About this tool
Putting a logo on product shots, event photos or social posts is the same small job repeated many times, and the risk is that it lands at a different size on each picture. Here the logo's width is a share of each photo's width, and its distance from the edge a share of the photo's shorter side, so a batch of mixed sizes and shapes comes out consistent.
A logo with a transparent background, saved as PNG, sits cleanly on the photo. A logo saved as JPG has a solid rectangle behind it, usually white, and that rectangle comes along. The logo keeps its own proportions and is never stretched; if it would not fit inside the margin it is made smaller.
What you get
- Logo width as a share of each photo
- Nine positions with an adjustable margin
- Opacity from faint to solid
- Transparent PNG logos stay transparent
- The same logo on up to 20 photos at once
When to use the logo placement tool
Product photos for a shop or marketplace
A small logo in the same corner of every product shot marks the range as yours without redesigning each image.
Social media posts
Event and campaign photos carry the brand with them when they are reshared outside your own page.
Property and vehicle listings
An agency or dealer mark on each photo identifies the source when listings are copied to other sites.
Team and event photography
A club crest or sponsor logo at the edge of match-day or conference photos, applied to the whole set at once.
Starting points for logo size and position
| Use | Logo width | Position | Opacity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quiet brand mark | 12 to 18% | Bottom right | 100% |
| Sponsor or partner logo | 20 to 30% | Bottom centre | 100% |
| Subtle mark on a portfolio image | 10 to 15% | Bottom left | 60 to 80% |
| Logo as the main element | 40 to 60% | Centre | 100% |
| Proof or preview mark | 50 to 80% | Centre | 20 to 35% |
How it works
The logo is scaled so that its width is the chosen share of the photo's width, and its height follows from its own proportions; it is never stretched. If that size would push it outside the margin, as a tall logo on a wide photo can, it is reduced until it fits. Scaling down is done by halving repeatedly and then making one final adjustment, which keeps fine lettering sharper than a single large reduction would.
Transparency in the logo file is respected pixel by pixel, including soft edges, and the opacity setting is applied on top of it to the logo as a whole. The margin is a share of the photo's shorter side. Because every measurement is relative to the photo, the same settings place the logo consistently on a portrait phone picture and a wide banner. The logo is read on your device like the photo, and neither is uploaded.
Common problems and how to fix them
- The logo has a white or coloured box behind it
- The file has a solid background. Save the logo as a PNG with a transparent background, or clear a plain background first with the Background Colour Changer.
- The logo is fuzzy
- It has been enlarged past the size of its file. Use a larger version of the logo or an SVG, or reduce "Logo width". The note under the result says when enlargement happened.
- The logo is hard to see on some photos
- A dark logo vanishes on dark photos and a light one on light photos. Keep two versions of the logo and use each where it shows, or move it to a corner that is usually plain.
- Nothing happens after I add the photo
- The logo has not been chosen yet. Press "Choose logo" in the settings. The photo is shown unchanged until a logo is selected.
Frequently asked questions
What kind of logo file should I use?
A PNG with a transparent background, at least as large in pixels as it will appear on the photo. JPG, WebP, GIF and SVG files are read as well, but a JPG has no transparency, so its background colour will show as a box around the logo.
Why does my logo have a white box around it?
The logo file has a white background instead of a transparent one. You can remove a plain background with the Background Colour Changer: choose "Make a colour transparent", save the result as PNG, and use that as the logo here.
Why does the logo look blurred?
It has been enlarged beyond the size of its file. A 200 pixel logo placed at 20% of a 4000 pixel photo has to be stretched to 800 pixels. The result panel warns you when that happens. Use a larger logo file, an SVG, or a smaller width.
Is the logo file uploaded anywhere?
No. Both the photo and the logo are opened by your browser on your own device, and the combined picture is made there too.
Can I use an SVG logo?
Yes. An SVG is drawn at whatever size is needed, so it stays sharp on large photos. It needs a width and height of its own in the file; one without them is treated as 1024 pixels square.
Does the logo keep the same position on portrait and landscape photos?
It keeps the same relative position: the same corner, the same share of the width, the same share of the shorter side as margin. That is usually what looks consistent across a mixed set.
